Veterinarian

Dr. Patricia Lechten

Dr. Patricia Lechten graduated from the Veterinary College of Missouri and moved to Canada in the 1980’s to practice veterinary medicine. She is a very knowledgeable and busy lady (she never stops...). Her keen interest in reproduction has made her a member of the Society of Veterinary Theriogenology. Her drive and passion for veterinary medicine has brought her to be on the Board of Directors of multiple organizations, including: the Canadian Golden Retriever Rescue and the Global Alliance of Animals and People (GAAP). She is also the 2019 President of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO).

In addition to all of the above, she is a huge supporter of giving back to the community. She has participated in multiple trips to Roatan, Honduras; Todos Santos, Guatemala; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; and numerous First Nations Reservations on spay/neuter/vaccination missions to help the very kind people and animals that just don’t have the access or money to pay for veterinary care for their beloved pets.

In her spare time (hard to believe she still has some!), she enjoys spending time with her son, Ryan; two Cornish Rex cats, “Cosmo Kramer” and “Ringo”; and her three dogs, “Holly” the Border Terrier, “Rafi” the Portuguese Water Dog, and “Clementine” the Basset Hound. She also enjoys reading a good book every now and then.
