Lisa is our head Registered Veterinary Technician and has been an Allandale team leader since graduating with honors from St. Clair College in 1994. In addition to her responsibilities as team leader and technician, Lisa schedules her team, prepares our quarterly newsletter, maintains our website and blog, and helps organize extracurricular activities like client education seminars.

In the winter of 2009, Lisa received her Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) in Anesthesia & Analgesia, as she has a keen interest in small animal anesthesia. To learn more about this technician specialty in anesthesia visit https://www.avtaa-vts.org/index.pml.

In 2010, a career highlight was traveling to Jamaica and visiting for a week at the Animal House, a non-kill shelter located in the Blue Mountains outside of Ocho Rios. This started a trend for her, returning twice more. She also joined a team that traveled to Todos Santos, Guatemala for a week helping educate the locals about vaccinations and working at the spay/neuter clinic. Loving the volunteer work, she recently participated in another 2 campaigns, a northern reserve in Blind River, ON, and recently returned from Roatan Honduras. In the past, she has been a board member for the Vet Tech and Vet assistant programs through Georgian College, and the recipient of the Barrie Advance Readers’ Choice award for the Favourite Veterinary Technician in Barrie!

In some of her spare time, you can find her consulting for practices, speaking at conferences/webinars or authoring in provincial journals. She currently is a mentor for the AVTAA, helping mentor applicants through the specialty process. Lisa is a huge Golden State Warriors fan, loves travelling, a lover of orange tabbies, and downhill skiing literally anywhere she can.
