Dr. Angie Castelo

Dr. Angie Castelo joins the Allandale team fresh off her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine training from Ontario Veterinary College. Don’t let that fool you, however, as she comes with well-rounded experience in different facets of veterinary medicine. These include research in pathology and infectious diseases, wildlife rehabilitation, dog behavior and grooming, regulatory and large animal medicine. Additionally, she holds a BSc. Honors Degree in Microbiology from the University of Guelph. Dr. Angie juggled several leadership roles, as well as volunteered for numerous charities both local and abroad while she was in veterinary school. Her most unforgettable experience was when she spent 3 months in Tanzania with Veterinarians Without Borders working with small-scale poultry and cattle farmers, most of whom are caretakers of Most Vulnerable Children. She looks forward to joining the AVH team in their international volunteer work and fundraising for community development.

Her clinical interests include dentistry, pain management, nutrition, integrative medicine (specifically acupuncture) and geriatric care. She is excited to meet all your furry companions but extra cuddles will be given to pugs as she is a self-proclaimed pug lady!

Dr. Angie now calls Barrie home with her Pomeranian Casper and cat Theo. When she is not busy running around in scrubs, she enjoys practicing yoga, trying out different cuisines, and hiking with her boyfriend and their new Australian cattle dog puppy, Teddy.
