Dr. Janyk Laferriere was born and raised in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. She attended the university of Guelph where she earned a BSc. degree in 2003. In 2006 she graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College. Returning home she practiced as a mixed animal veterinarian. She found her niche of small animal medicine and decided to strictly focus on it. Dr. Laferriere joined the veterinary team here at Allandale in June 2007.She is fluent in both French and English and would be happy to provide veterinary care in either language! She resides outside of Barrie with her husband Shawn, their lovebird "Oscar" and their cat "Andie". In her spare time Dr. Laferriere enjoys reading, gardening, scrapbooking and playing the piano.
