| | | Click Image For Related Information | | | Lisa Registered Veterinary Technician, VTS(Anesthesia) | Lisa is our head Registered Veterinary Technician and has been an Allandale team leader since graduating with honors from St. Clair College in 1994. In addition to her responsibilities as team leader and technician, Lisa schedules her team,
prepares our quarterly newsletter, maintains our website and blog, and helps organize
extracurricular activities like our open house, pet fair's, client education seminars and golf tournaments.
In winter of 2009 Lisa, received her Veterinay Technician Specialty (VTS)in Anesthesia, as she has a keen interest in small animal anesthesia.
Several months later,a career highlight was travelling to Jamaica and working for a week at the Animal House a non-kill shelter located in the Blue Mountains outside of Ocho Rios.
Lisa enjoys free time with her family Chris and daughter Berlynn. Lisa loves travelling, photography, reading, hiking, shopping and has re-discovered the love of mountain biking in the trails locally around Barrie. Melissa joined our team in the summer of 2002 and is a graduate of the Pre-
Health Sciences program at Georgian College. Her family pets include 'Sherlock'and "Magenta" her cats,and her Norwich Terrier 'Dee Dee'.Melissa is an integral part of our staff. She is in charge of quality control of all equipment used. She is a vital asset in the treatment ward, and works hand in hand with Lisa.
Melissa enjoys challenges and loves to problem solve our equipment, as well as organizes our annual pet fair! During her free time, he enjoys spending time with her family, her partner Dave and daughter Raya. One of Melissa's passions is trying new and exotic foods, some of her faves include sushi and thai food. | | | Nathan Registered Veterinary Technician | Nathan graduated with honors from Seneca College in the spring of 2005 after completing a 2 year course in Veterinary Technology. He joined the Allandale Team in the summer of 2007 and works as our afternoon technician.
He spent most of his life growing up in the Haliburton Highlands on his family's hobby farm - a place he often travels back to on the weekends and holidays. Nathan has several animals of his own (both large and small) including: Cadbury, Caramilk, & Carmelle (beef cows), Breeze, Silver, Canyon and Lilly(horses), Shadow the Golden Retriever and Peaches the cat!
Nathan enjoys country music, spending time with family and friends as well as playing on the tennis court, which he admits doesn't happen very often!
Curtis has been with us for just over a year now. He comes to us as a senior in high school, not quite sure of what his career will be just yet. he lives at home with his 2 fluffy cats Zoe and Leo. He also plays guitar, football, hockey and loves skiing and snowboarding. Curtis works in the treatment department as well as boarding.
Ryan has been with us for several years now. He works not only in our pharmacy department but also as an assistant in the treatment ward. Ryan loves globetrotting the world, and his second love is music. He attended Georgian College of the Arts, and also designed our new logo for our hospital! He loves animals having grown up with a household of them all his life! He particularily likes the unique breeds of dogs and cats. | | | Lynsay Registered Veterinary Technician |
Lynsay attended the Veterinary Technician program at Georgian College and graduated with honours in 2007. Moving from London back to Barrie, Lynsay joined our treatment team as an RVT, and looks forward to meeting your pets! She has aspirations of someday obtaining the title as a veterinary nutitional specialist. Lynsay has a keen interest in aquatics( she has a salt water tank) where she also works part time for an aquatic service. She enjoys hiking with two dogs (Flash and Dallas -both rescue dogs).
Richard started working with us in October 2011. He studied Animal Care at Georgian College and now is the recovery ward nurse here at our hospital. He ensures that our patients stay warm once procedures are completes, monitoring, and ensuring a quick and stable recovery from anesthesia. Richard also assists the technicians in the treatment ward with such tasks as bandaging, nail trims and nursing care. During his time away from the hospital Richard enjoys going to the gym, relaxing at home, watching movies, and his favortite tv episodes of Spartacus and Game of Thrones!
Josh LOVES cats! He works in our treatment and boarding areas of the hospital. He says perhaps one day me may have aspirations to become a nurse in the human medical field with a keen interest in the operating room setting. Josh loves painting and pastels and listening to music.
Nick recently joined our team and asked what his favorite part of his shift is, he will answer "interacting with the pets of course!". Nick would like to develop a career as a nurse (human field). He lives at home and has a Golden Retriver named Rosie. He plays drums and loves to snowboard. His favorite one liner is "COOL BEANS!" |
