Yes! We do cat grooming! Cats unfortunately are not as patient as we all expect, and we don't want to add any more stress than there may already be coming to the pet hospital, so therefore all grooming is done under a general gas anesthetic. (providing the cat is healthy)Shown here is our typical "lion cut". The body is taken down with #10 blade, so the hair is fairly short, the head and paws, and tail tip is left "poofy" looking. While anesthetized our patients are monitored by a technician, and pulse oximeter, and temperature probe. Once the "cut" is done, the patient is bathed, and blow dried. Any finishing touches are added. The patient is recovered and warmed. Our grooms are admitted and completed early in the morning and are able to go in the afternoon.
